Events have occurred since Medical Examiner Michael Berkland did the autopsy on a
28 year old Congressional employee of former Congressman Joe Scarborough, now host
of the MSNBC program Morning Joe, who died alone in Scarborough's office in 2001.
Dr. Berkland was suspended for failure to complete 95% of his autopsy reports in 2001.
Other actions include lawsuits, eviction, a federal tax lien and more. Published
reports at the time questioned the autopsy and whether the deceased, who was a marathon
manner, had any medical problems to cause the death
In 1998, three years before the Scarborough intern autopotsy, Medical Examiner Michael
Berkland had his license revoked by the State of Missouri as Medical
